Vanilla Mango Lassi

If you love a fruity milkshake a wonderful alternative is a lassi. A lassi is a traditional drink originating from India which is drank to cool the body down on a hot day, however it also drank in the morning as it so nutritious and makes good breakfast drink. It involves three ingredients in a original recipe, milk, yogurt and a form of sweetness which includes fruit or sugar. The drink is naturally frothy, the texture making the differ from the usually milkshake.

I like a bit of a modern twist in my mango lassi, I had the seeds of half a vanilla bean.

Recipe for vanilla mango lassi:
Yeild 250ml

100ml milk (any you prefer)
100ml natural yogurt
Half a vanilla bean
A quarter of average size mango, around a 100g/ 50ml of mango pulp

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and mix well. That all there is to it. You can adjust the ingredients to your taste, so if you would like it thicker you add more yogurt to milk or use greek yogurt, and if you want a intense hit of mango add more to the mix without adjusting anything. You can also use strawberries or a banana and you may also leave the fruit and use sugar instead. I have used frozen mango in the summer, I can tell you that it adds a luscious texture and creats a much more refreshing summer refreshment.

I hope you find this recipe delightful,
